Courses: MODULE OVERVIEW: Managing a Diverse Workforce
The
workforce is made up of a multitude of people. All have various
backgrounds, educational levels, personalities, and experiences
to draw from. This module takes a broad view of "diversity" and
focuses on how every one is part of the diversity picture. Diversity
can be a source of creativity and innovation but can be a source
of conflict in groups. Employers are wise to adopt practices to
respond to these changes and to integrate people of all backgrounds
into the workforce to ensure fairness, consistency, and compliance
with the law.

Audience:
All
managers and supervisors could benefit from this program. It focuses
on practical issues in dealing with people that are different from
one's self. It requires open-mindedness and an ability to freely
discuss preconceptions and prejudices. The major objective is for
managers to have the realization that everyone is different and
those differences need to be valued.
Timing:
This
module can be presented with a minimum of two hours. Employees and
managers should be split into different groups so managers can have
a more in-depth and private discussion on certain issues.
